About Us

Part of the French Market District, Crescent Park is a 1.4 mile, 20 acre urban linear park that connects our community and visitors to our riverfront. This unique public space provides breathtaking views of New Orleans, native landscaping, bike paths, a dog run and multi-use pavilions for all to enjoy.

Street Car

RTA Riverfront Street Car, exit stop #10 French Market Station.  Exit stop and turn right.  Follow the floodwall for approximately 500 ft. to enter park using Mandeville Crossing.  (Elevators located in concrete shaft)

Bus

For Elysian Fields Entrance Approximately 2300 N. Peters (ADA Compliant) RTA Line 5 Marigny-Bywater, exit stop #4491 at Decatur and Esplanade.  Cross the street at Esplanade to the floodwall.  Turn left and follow the floodwall for approximately 500 ft. to enter park using Mandeville Crossing.  (Elevators located in concrete shaft) RTA Line 55 Elysian Fields, exit stop #1257 St. Claude at Elysian Fields.  Follow Elysian Fields to the floodwall.  Turn left at N. Peters and enter park using Mandeville Crossing.  (Elevators located in concrete shaft)

Bartholomew Street Entrance Approximately 3900 Chartres Street (ADA Compliant) RTA Line 5 Marigny-Bywater, exit stop #4489 Poland at St. Claude.  Follow Poland Ave towards river and make a right on Chartres.  Take the ramp at Bartholomew to enter break in floodwall.  Turn right at the top of ramp to enter the park.

Car

From New Orleans International Airport and West on I-10 From the airport, follow I-10 going East. Stay to your left past I-10 and Causeway Blvd. Continue east on I-610 to New Orleans. Exit Elysian Fields (Exit on the right side). Make a right on Elysian Fields and continue toward the River/French Quarter.

From the East on I10 From Slidell/East New Orleans follow I-10 going west. Take the Elysian Fields exit, exit #237. Continue on Elysian Fields.

*Please Note: Mandeville Elevators are under repair, for ADA access please use Bartholemew entrance. *

Follow Elysian Fields to Decatur Street and turn right.  There is paid public parking available in the left-hand side parking lot at 400 Elysian Fields.  Exit lot and cross the street to 2300 N. Peters.  The park can be entered using stairs and bridge across train tracks or using elevator (in concrete shaft) and crossing bridge to second elevator on riverside.

For Piety Street Entrance Approximately 3360 Chartres Street From Elysian Fields turn left on Chartres and follow to approximately 3360 Chartres Street.  Make a Right into free public parking lot.  Enter park using Piety Street Footbridge.

Bartholomew Street Entrance Approximately 3900 Chartres Street (ADA Compliant) From Elysian Fields turn left onto Chartres and follow to approximately 3900 Chartres Street.  Follow ramp (on right) through the break in the floodwall.  Turn right at the top of the ramp into free public parking lot.

Park Rules

  • Park Hours: 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • No skateboards, motorized vehicles, segways, motorcycles, scooters, glass containers or bottles, littering, heavy equipment or vehicles are permitted in the park.
  • No overnight activity.
  • Parking is only permitted in designated areas.
  • All pets must be cubed at all times while on the park grounds except in dog run area.
  • No storage of equipment or materials in the park.
  • No cooking of any kind.
  • No swimming or fishing.
  • No entry into Mississippi river, batture or areas beyond fences and guardrails.

All filming/photography on French Market property beyond the scope of personal use must be approved by the French Market Corporation and the City of New Orleans (when applicable).
